Naw, nothing like that, but anyone who deer hunts oughta watch it ONCE. Just for the chuckles. Some of it is hilarious, but it takes a certain kind of humor to see that.

I watched it years ago.
Was not good, was not bad.....just " was ".

Im not Scandinavian or from that far north.
So it was not very funny.

Know people like that and for the similarities, it was at best mildly amusing.

Like making fun of the handicapped.

If you've ever visited the "camps" in the mid-western part of the U.P. in the 60s and 70s, you'd understand the humor more better.
Any of you watched "The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter"? It saturises a more "modern" deer hunting culture.

Starts out really good, then about half way through it, it turns really bad and stupid. It could have been a classic with a second half as good as the first.

Yes, I’m serious. I don’t need a movie to get pumped up for the season.

All those things in camp are great. Except that movie. Leave that at a home. grin

Watch the movie Breakin or any other 80’s flick and escanaba In da moonlight is a movie master piece

I hope you’re not talking about “Rad”. That last scene where the guy and a young Lori Laughlin from “full house” rides their freestyle bmx bikes into the prom and do that choreographed freestyle/dance thing to The song “Send me an angel” is cinema perfection man!

I live a stones throw away from the camp where it was filmed. In fact a shirt tailed relative owns the place. You need to know the culture up here to appreciate the humor, We Yoopers are a unique breed, EHHHHH!

I can say with high certainty that the people of Escanaba don’t like it. I live very near there off of Little Bay De Noc. And I have a deer camp just north of there, just like the movie. If the movie was about a Sportsman’s paradise, then it would be spot on. Last Saturday I flushed 20 grouse for my friends with my two German wirehairs. Tomorrow I am going trophy walleye fishing, and then headed to my cabin on Friday for a weekend of archery. Maybe between hunts I will trout fish the Ford River. All of this within 45 mins of my house. If you like the outdoors, it’s hard to find a better place.

Life long Yooper. Watched it once. Thought it had potential at first then it went off the rails. Maybe I'll bring it out to camp this year, I'm sure some a couple of the young guys haven't seen it yet.

The drinking is realistic..know a bunch of guys that miss the opening morning most every year cause of to much Yukon Jack and PBR. I give them their due..they don`t hunt under the weather.. and it`s a long season.
Didn`t care for the movie.
