Somehow in replying to answer to my post, I wiped out my original post and assl replies. Sorry. Here is all the data on my find:

Clip marked 284 on side
No rear sight barrel boss
No lever boss marking
Williams sliding ramp rear sight
Soft black pad with black spacer
Monte carlo stock with swivel studs
Grooved forend with cut checkered bottom
Cut checkered pistol grip
Brass indian chief head in Pistol grip cap-.
Avid collector John Allen thinks maybe made up late from old stock parts including barrel

Don't know where assl got in there, was supposed to be ALL. Big bandage on my finger !!!!!!!

I've probably owned 3 dozen 284s, none of barrels had rear sight bosses.

Well focused and detailed pictures of your rifle might help identify the mix of components.

In the mid-1980s Savage put together a lot of 99s in non-cataloged configurations that appeared to be an effort to generate some revenue by using up whatever parts were left in the warehouse before the company went under.
