I haven't been able to find out any recent information on whether the introduction of the gray wolf passed or not in Colorado. Anyone know?

The yes vote had a slight lead somewhere I saw this AM. Hard to believe CO has fallen this far left - they have no idea what they are asking for! Since wolves are getting de-listed can a firing squad be arranged for the release point?

If they release them, we will shoot them. 3 down from their northern pack already, predators just across the state line into Wyoming.

Well, you still draw an elk tag every 3 to 5 years if you're lucky now in Colorado.

Like in WA and OR you will never be able to hunt them or control their populations

Um, about those numbers... I didn't realize that the CO population was in the trillions.

I argued for 15 years that Colorado should restore wolves before wolves restored themselves and be unmanageable because of the ESA, or be restored via ballot initiative that would make it highly susceptible to lawsuits once any hunting was proposed.

But no, the legislature and the Wildlife Commission dug their heels in, stuck their heads in the sand and wished the issue away.

Now they have the worst of both worlds. Delisting of wolves aside, how can you distinguish and manage Colorado wolves and federal wolves on the same landscape? A management nightmare!!!!!

If Biden is elected the wolves may well be relisted.

This is what happens when they let millions of displaced idiots from CA move into your state. TX better take heed because the same damn thing is going to happen here as well.

We’ve been living with planted wolves in Idaho for almost 25 years. It took a good 20 years for the elk to learn how to deal with them enough to rebound to decent levels. Now we have to figure out how to hunt elk with 1/2 of California moving to Boise.

I would imagine that the point system in Colorado is going to go bonkers. I believe some of your higher point areas are already taking 25 to 30 points to draw. Imagine what is going to happen to the number of preference points when the number of tags has been cut by 80% for 15 or 20 years.

Elk in open areas don’t seem to fare as poorly as elk in thick, timbered areas. However, the wolves do push the elk out of the mountains and down onto private farmland where I have little doubt that rich people will pay a premium to shoot them out of their pickups.

I feel very sorry for the folks of Colorado.
