Who makes the best dialing scope about the size of a leupold 2.5-8x36?
The SIG BDX 2.5-8x32 perhaps? Nightforce SHV 3-10x42? Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x32? Something I’m missing?
For a 260 Remington Deer rifle 300 yds max Thanks

Don’t think one exists that size. Closest would be compact NXS/SHV’s, SWFA 3-9 or March compact

........... Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x32 ..............
That one. The x42 version is fairly compact as well. NX8 1-8 is very compact and dials well. I haven't played with a 1-6 SWFA yet.

No disagreement with any of the above, but what is the motivation for dialing for deer with a 260 at max 300Y?
You can add the swfa ultralight to the list if you are looking for lightest possible.

For a 260 Remington Deer rifle 300 yds max Thanks SWFA SS 3-9 or SWFA SS 1-6. Have used both and both are superb. John

The Trijicon Accupower 1-8x has been great for me so far, and the SS 3-9x is not a mistake.

I really don't much care for the 3-9x HD MQ,mainly because I have a few,but at least Shirk can afford to read about it...the "lucky" kchunt. Hint. Congratulations?!?
The UL is neither Fish or Fowl and brings nothing mechanically redeeming to the table. Hint.
Grabbin' Grade "C's" of the 1-6x HD MQ flavoring, certainly ain't a bad idea,as it easily connects all dots. While I can hold the 6x MQ's reticle harder,it's rather easy to do nice work with The Little Lit Bitch Variable HD MQ. Hint.
I shoot more 264 Kreedmire and 260AI,than I do straight Vanilla Salami 260,but 6x is more than plenty on all of 'em and an obvious first choice.

Why dial if your rifle is built to be light and planned for medium range hunting? Carry it a couple hundred yards closer. My 260 is + or - 3 inches out to 300 yards. Drop at 400 is a bit over 15 inches. Inside of 300 I just hold right where I want to.

For a 260 Remington Deer rifle 300 yds max Thanks The new March 1.5-15X42 is just a little smaller than the Leupold 2.5-8X36, but it is heavier because it has real lenses and is built like an Abrams tank. It's also quite a bit more expensive. I have one on my AR-10, with which I shoot at 600 yards in competitions. https://marchscopes.com/scopes/d15v42iml/It comes in MIL or MOA and it is an SFP design.

The upside to glass that is mechanically sound,is that there is no downside, which is of course too obvious for The Paper Hat Brigade. Hint.
Triggertime tends to connect dots,to the chagrin of Droolers everywhere and pushing a platform,is where the real learning takes place. Hint.
Fortunately for you fhuqktards,Imagination and Pretend are free,so you can "afford" to "contribute". Hint.
Bless your hearts for doing your best though.
Hint.

You shouldn't have to dail for 300 yard deer shots with a 260!

Thats an interesting, if expensive small scope

The OP asked for the best dial scope at a specific size. That's what this riflescope is, the best.
I consider this mission accomplished.

Dial to 300 makes no sense with any attempt at using a proper MPBR type scenario. It is easy to get a 260 out to 300, holding on fur, with no dial needed.
