I want to buy a nice cartridge wallet for both 308-family and 30-06-family wallets. I usually use El Paso but they don't list them on their website. I only want a 5 round wallet and it doesn't need to work on a belt, I'll probably just drop it in my pack.

Check out Montana Slings. I’ve never had one of his cartridge carriers but he makes nice slings. https://www.montanagunslings.com/cartridge-carriers.php

Boyt used to make a 5 and 10 round version. I've got several of the 5 round versions and they are great.

Talk to Pat (scenarshooter). I’m betting he can help you. This^^^^. I have one of the cartridge carriers, and it's really well made and reasonably priced.

Yes, that is why avoid leather for this purpose. MTM makes ammo wallets which won't corrode your rounds, and fit a shirt pocket. Alternatively, for just slipping five rounds in a shirt pocket I've often just used a stripper clip to hold them together and prevent rattling. A Mauser stripper clip for rounds of .30/06 head size and a .303 clip (charger) for various rimmed rounds like .303, 7x57R and 9.3x74R.

In a similar vein, quick strips are another good option.

Go to talk with Will on Accurate Reloading if you would like elephant. I have had him make some Euro narrow slings for my old '03 and '05 Steyrs, and billfolds, a checkbook wallet for the wife, and other projects. All red dirt color. They cost a buck but my ele wallet hasn't yet looked ages after three years of hard use. I would guess you would be happy with an ammo wallet. Be Well, RZ.

But the leather cases are classy!
