Came across this a few days ago, trying to pass it along. I know most people right now have been heavily impacted economically recently, but if anyone can and wishes to help out a vet, I’ll provide a link below. I went to high school with this woman so it hits close to home. She was a crew chief for F-15’s in the Air Force. Prayers and shares are appreciated too, I’m sure.

She isn’t sharing a lot about her situation, however I spoke to her briefly and she told me she has a little less than 2 weeks to gather the money to get the medical process started, otherwise she has about 8 weeks left. Her kidneys and liver are failing, that’s all I really know and don’t want to take up a lot of her time or add stress to her in this time asking a lot of questions.

I’m not the one handling donations, just trying to help out. Thanks for your time.

What about the VA?

I was gonna ask the same question.

She said that the VA was the first place that she went. However she couldn’t get approved for this preliminary surgery because of associated risks. They’re currently only willing to help with symptom management.

My understanding is that she’ll need several (5 or more is the number I was told) other surgeries should this first one be successful, and that the VA should be able to help with those. If she’s able to get this first surgery, her chances of survival go from 2-5% up to 50-75% “instantly”. If she can make it 72 hours post surgery without complications her odds are about 75-85%. None of the other operations can take place without that one being done first.

I spoke to but have yet to hear back from the person managing the fundraiser I linked about creating an alternative for those that do not use Facebook. If anything comes of that I will link that here as well.

That’s really all I know guys. Again I’m not involved in managing this whatsoever and I wish I had more answers for you. Much appreciation to those who have donated and prayers.
