Jim well said and well put a man of some experience. I also have been hunting the NW Oregon ( I grew up here) but I do miss the Ochocos and may have to get back there soon. But I like the closed gates and getting back away from people and I think you hit it dead on in regards to hearing Rosies they will bugle and chuckle but you had better be close.

Rocks is another one that's new to me, that I'll hopefully get to try this October.

Two other things I used last year: scent-lok clothes and cow elk urine scent cover wafers (I was wearing three of them). The bulls that came to me actually approached from down wind--guess I stunk really pretty... grin

...in the comments below, someone states that they did recover the bull--that it only ran about 150 yards before it bled out...
