Trying to warm up after a day of deer hunting. Can't take the cold like I used too. Got a hot cup of tea, some old Shooting Times magazines from the early 80's, sitting in Christmas tree light.

Watching "The Maltese Falcon" and loading cartuchos. Win! Sipping bourbon and hanging with the hounds as per usual.

Took an old BSA Monarch in 243 Win apart, and cleaned the metal up with a toothbrush, some automotive transmission oil, and fine steel wool. A light touch of Lubriplate on the back of the locking lugs and good scrubbing of the bore finished it all up. Might take it up to the range tomorrow after church.

Well, back up at 2:45 a.m. Neighbor’s house alarm went off. Got the truck out and drove to the top of the hill so I could see doors, front and back. Nothing moving and it’s too cold to sit here without running the engine. Going back to bed!
