Fellas regards resurrecting an old 44mag 1892 with a new re-barrel( original one damaged) wondered if its ability to feed certain length cartridges might be effected? These guns can be fussy to COAL Wondering if any critical dimensions might change with a re-barrel? it would be nice if it still ran with the old handloads for it , which were short 44 special.. Barrel would be done by professional smith. Thanks for any thoughts.

The carrier and cartridge guides should dictate feeding of a certain OAL. I wouldn’t worry about it.
