Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Athlon scopes. Looking for something like this for my AR-15 carbine and I'm not looking to spend much money on a high end optic. I really don't expect to ever be shooting much over 300 yards with this rifle and highly doubt I'll ever be dialing the turrets for long range shooting. I do like the idea of a 1x scope for close in shooting and the illuminated reticle would help to act like a red-dot. Bushnell has a similar scope in their AR Optics BTR-1 line that is similarly priced. Any opinions?

Thanks, RICKMELEAR. I hadn't seen that particular scope before. A bit more than I was looking to spend, but I don't doubt that it would be a fine scope for my application.

I like Athlon scopes and have one of their 2-12 scopes on my long range coyote rig.

For my AR I put a Kronus Pro 1.5-6x40 w/circle-dot reticle it is illuminated also, for the money it is really nice, adustments have beenspot on glass is clear all the way to the edges on all powers and it is holding zero bumping in and out of the rig going from stand to stand all day.

Thanks, Erich! I hadn't considered a Konus scope, but they don't look too bad. Have you had any issues with the Athlon scope? Are the adjustments decent?

It has been a great scope. I had a 2-10x40 last year from them again a nice scope, I didn't care for the tall turrets as they would hang up in the scabbard. I gave it to my granddaughter for targets and plinking, she loves it. Her husband liked it enough to order a 3-15 for his rifle.
