Greetings,
I also have this posted on AR-15.com, as suggested by some very helpful members here a little while ago, as this might not be the best venue to sell an AR.
This was the first gun I purchased after turning 18, as I was trying to collect a "Vietnam-era" CAR-15 lookalike. As I've gotten older, my attention is turning to nice double guns for grouse hunting here in New England, and I just don't have the interest in shooting this rifle anymore. I'll also be listing a Colt 6920 shortly for the same reasons.
This first listing is for a "pre-ban" (if that even matters anymore) Colt AR-15 Sporter Lightweight (as stamped on the lower receiver, third photo link below) in .223/5.56mm. The lower receiver is stamped .223, but the barrel is marked 5.56mm with a 1/7" twist. All stock, as it came from the factory, adjustable stock, classic carrying handle and front handguard. No bayonet lug. Can't say I've missed it...
Small mark on the barrel, right near the 5.56 stamping, and the rear sight was rubbed as I put it into the hard case one day. Sub-500 round count for this rifle. Photos posted below should show the wear marks, accordingly.
$1625 shipped to your FFL, $1550 face to face here in Vermont (I'm in the greater Burlington area).
I will accept cash, USPS money order, or cashier's check, and will ship once the funds are verified through my bank.
Serial number SL 0167xx. Lookup on Colt’s website with the SL prefix comes back with nothing, but if I use the SP prefix with that number, it indicates a manufacture date of 1971.
