If you poison them, they rot and stink and might not find them

Use a live trap or heck even some real traps

Figure out where theyre entering too. Eliminate by denying access.

A friend had a mouse die in the air vent in his vintage mustang car. He could never get rid of the smell. Rank. Ha...

Lock 3 cats in the attic for a month. At the end of the month, kill the remaining cat.

Get a pet Mink. They are viscous and relentless. I think this guy rents them out.

I never get tired of watching this.

Thanks Slum, Any recommendation on a suitable trap and bait type? Also the part of the attic where I hear them is very difficult to access.
I'll need to set traps where I have good access.
I don't want to use poison, but will they eat something like "Ramik Green"?

Pellet gun, .17 caliber rounds or for tree rats that want to charge at you...40mm grenade.

If those are ineffective, break out the E-caller and serenade them with some bobcat growls.

Don't ask me about my military service or heroic acts...most of it is untrue.

They will pi$$ and $hit all over and are a major PITA. Havaheart traps to live trap them, but if you release them without first finding the hole that they're getting in through you'll be trapping and releasing them over and over. I'd kill them once you live trap them and have them out of the house, but that's me.

Peanut butter, gives off good smell

Definitely kill them or take a long ways off. Hopefully not near anyone’s home or farm. Now that they have a preference for structures.
