Did OK in my area although we had to work harder than in past years. Rained about 9 inches the week before season opened. Everything was pretty soggy. Still better than working though.
Dave

Saw some young bucks, but I'm not killing just any deer anymore. I'm looking for over the hill deer to match my over the hill body.

Well I finally got to make it out for opening day of gun season. Didn't get anything, but saw more then I have in the past few years. Also bow hunted some, but rushed a nice buck, and couldn't get a shot at him. There's always next season!
Hudge

I didn't get a shot during bow season, or during blk. pwdr season, but I did get one 3pt. with my blk pwdr Rem. 700 inline on the second day of modern gun season, and got a 5pt and 6pt with my 14" 7-30 Waters Contender and a nice 8pt and 14pt with my A-bolt 7mag and the lone female with my Rem.700 Mountain Rifle in 7mm-08. The hogs sent me home empyt handed this yr. I passed on them during bow and blk pwdr because they were too far to drag by myself and passed one during modern gun for the same reason. Had a few more chances when they were right up on my stand just before night and either smelled where I had walked and left or it got dark before I could see them.
Guess I'll have to get my pork chops from Winn Dixie.

Chased the same buck all season, and never got a shot. My only regret is that with this weather, I hope he makes it through to next year. No regrets on anything elseI passed. I'll be huntin' him again next year, you can bet.
Best damn buck I've seen in 5 years, and I know just where he lives. Pray for sun!
Jack

Jack i know what ya mean, I had the best buck i'd seen while Bowhunting come into about 35-40 yd's away and he did'nt present a shot, Bad angle,
But i said to myself i was'nt gonna take anything smaller than him, I seen him three more time's during bow season.
The last day of our week long shotgun season here he came and i got a double lung shot from 20 yd's outta one of my bow stand's,
It was an awesome bow season and i did'nt shoot one arrow, I understand your feeling's on getting that deer.
------------------
Sunrise Is Awesome!!!!!!!!
