I am looking for a good semi compact binocular in 8 or 10 power with a 30 or 32mm objective. I would like to keep it under $750 but if $1000 buys me leaps and bounds quality that would be possible. I have been carrying a pair of Swift Audubon 8.5x44 binoculars and they are heavy and pretty large. They take up a lot of room in a day pack. When using a harness they weigh enough to drop down to my belly after walking a while. Time for something a little smaller and lighter. Let me hear what works for y’all

Lot of very solid options available. I carry a slc 8x30 and a bx-4 8x32. Got both for well under your budget and get great results from both

Used Swarovski SLC 8x30s pop up here and elsewhere fairly often. Don't think you could go wrong a set.

We have an open box on a Swarovski CL Companion for only $1,099.99 if that would work for you. Another awesome option would be the Kowa Genesis 8x33 (call for special pricing)

I vote to put a couple hundred of that stimulous check in the kitty and go with the Swaro 8x30 CL's.

Doug, Which would you choose between the above Kowa and Swarovski? I have never used either’s brand of binoculars. I had a Swarovski 3-9x36 scope and it had some great glass in it

I think the Kowa 8x33 is an exceptional binocular and for the price we can give it to you there's nothing that competes with it

The Kowa Genesis 8x33 is an absolute gem, in my opinion. I see a lot of optics, and from unboxing to informal testing to the field, it has been brilliant. It’s in my chest pack as we speak.
Stellar bino!

Thanks to all that responded. After careful research I am going to get the Kowa 8x33s. With Dougs awesome price I don’t see how I could go weong.
