Polenta, cornmeal--cooked on cast iron. Drizzled with real butter and real maple syrup. Better than waffles. Better than pancakes (except maybe buckwheat). Sitting on a plate next to thick-sliced bacon. Looks more edible than Miss November.

Mush is good. Waffles are better. Both at once are no problem for me.

Oh yeah, I get a hankerin' for some fried mush on a cold winter morning. Butter and syrup. Dad showed me how to make it many years ago.

Grew up on fried mush and maple syrup. Have not had it in 60+ years, but SWMBO does make excellent polenta. Just not pan-fried with syrup because she makes it Italian-style.

I've seen photos of Mediterranean dishes that include polenta. They look great but I haven't tried them. I did broiled salmon on a bed of polenta with a side of grilled asparagus after seeing a similar dish on the cover of some muscle magazine. I thoroughly enjoyed that.

My great grandma used to make cornmeal mush. Haven’t had any since I was about 4, I’m 72 don’t remember what it tasted like.

Haven't had mush in a while. But had Hominy just tonight. Got close I guess.

Mush should go good with Goetta.

Along with 2 fried eggs and toast. My mother excelled at that.

We had it as a kid. It's simply a syrup and butter delivery system.

Grandma and Mom made it, my dad loved it. I thought it was okay with lots of butter and syrup. They used to sell it in grocery stores as I recall but have not looked in years. I would rather have pancakes or waffles any day. Polenta is a good side dish with Italian food, have had it mixed with cheese and liked that a lot.
