Anyone making a bolt gun in 6mm ARC?

Interested in seeing how this becomes a lightweight HOWA 1500 mini action or?

Yes that would be something spectacular. That or a Kimber Montana or Adirondack.

Savage is supposed to make the Axis II and 110 Tactical in the 6mm ARC.

Yeah, I thought Howa was on the list according to Hornady. Some of data puts it close to 243 Win.

A Howa "alpine" on the mini action with a thin fluted barrel would be outstanding.

20", threaded, ceracoat.

I would probably be a customer for two of them for my girls. Load 55-75’ish bullets and call it their 223AI then load 95-105’s and call it their little deer rifle.

They were on Hornady's list, and I was really hopeful for a Mini in 6mm ARC for the new year, but so far only radio silence.

^ Exactly, I have a heavy Odin Works AR barrel on the way, but what I'd really love is a light-ish 20" threaded bolt gun. Effectively a modern, general use, fast twist 6mm PPC with factory rifles and ammo, could be so cool.

I hope they offer the Barreled Actions through Brownells again. That'd be a fine little rifle!

Me too! It really would check several boxes for us. I have a nephew that needs something like that too. Maybe things will start looking up on options and availability for rifles and barreled actions. Probably be a while but nice to think about.

Agree with that. I love my little cheap Howa 6mm. That thing hasn’t even been cleaned yet. I haven’t had a chance to stretch it yet but soon as I do I’m betting it won’t disappoint either. About to swap a 3x9 SS onto it as well.

I’ve got the 105 Lapuas I wanna try as well.

Do a prefit nut job and you can have anything you want. How much do they outrun a 6.5 Grendel? Worth it?

I was looking at that, after I got the Grendal...

yeah, I think it would be a good choice.... adding more versatility on covering a wide spread ...

6 mm, 55 to 100 grains, or more... depending on your action..and twist..
6.5 Grendal... 85 to 142 grain Sierra, or 143 Hornady ELD-X if so....

I saw something on line from Ruger of them either offering or intending to offer one in the Ruger American Predator...

My Grendal is on a Ruger American Predator platform...

I do have a pair of Howa Minis in 223....22 inch barrels...

Just saw Xcaliber will do Rem 700, Rem 783, Tikka T3, Sav, and RAR prefit and showing the 6ARC.... The l compact rifle like David describes is similar to what I have in mind when I get the lathe, and learn how to use it... Maybe shorter barrel specially for suppressor use. Maybe a minimalist stock. Maybe Howa Mini single shot. I don't know.

If you want to shoot 100+ grain high bc bullets, mag confines might get tight. I think one of the aftermarket hinged bm’s open it up a bit, but definitely something to look at.

Just had to look, seems Hornady 108 is loaded at 2.26 oal in a 2.32 mag. Gets a claimed 2750. Not sure how much you’d gain over something like a 123 scenar in the 6.5 but should be an easy shooting little rifle!

I fantasize about Grendeling an elk. Maybe someday. A Mini and an AR are here for the show, waiting for the go. Kinda like SF, I went Grendel right before the ARC came out. Logistics won for now.

ARC is one pass of a once-fired Grendel case through the ARC dies.

That’s how I’m getting mine for now.
