With everything thats going on in the world, sometimes small things make you smile.I have been looking for the front sight hood for my FN Mauser for God knows how long.i knew i put it someplace ,couldn t find it.Today i found it in a box of field points for my crossbow. How it got in THERE i'll never know.
Here's to small miracles.

Yep, seems like when you give up searching for them that's when you find them.

With me, it's just after I replace it...The O3-A3 is long gone, but I still have the extra bolt. Somewhere.

The corollary to that is moving something around for 20-30 years before getting rid of it since you have never used it (or don't know what it is). You will need it shortly thereafter.

Generally that's the one that gets me. Put item in a not so perfect place, then only remembering that I put it in a not so perfect place, which when searching, does little to narrow things down, other than you know it's not where it should be.

Congratulations.

My son and I are rattle canning and webbing an inline muzzleloader stock. I was hitting it with the last clearcoat and heard something fall. It was thw forend sling stud nut. Thought it was lost. Looked all over. Went back to the garage about an hour and a half later and looked at the floor ....bingo.. it was right there in plain sight.

No idea how I missed it the first time
