.....and/or method, for those of you who carry a full-sized 1911 do you use? OTW? Shoulder rig?

Nice holster, Kid... smile

Right now I'm using a Wright Leatherworks Predator - and it's OK.. Just looking for other potential options or styles.. Only thing about a full-size 1911 is the length of barrel which necessitates a rather long holster.... I agree on the OWB - I have just ONE IWB holster (Mitch Rosen) and it's just NOT comfy one bit..

For pure comfort, the new OWB optics ready from Sparks has been my "Go-To". I don't have any pics of a 1911 version, but here is a Glock version. It works equally as well for a non optic as an optic. Straight drop, very comfortable, and fast presentation.

I use an old Bianchi Askins Avenger, basically the same thing. I've probably had it for thirty years. I've used the Commander length, too, for both Commanders and HiPowers. My favorite holster, by far.

My daily rig, which I'm wearing right now:

Davis 453 Liberty straight drop and double magazine pouch. I have these for several revolvers, also:

Works for open carry on the range and around the homestead. Conceals under a jacket or oversize shirt for trips into town.

It's pretty rare I carry an all steel full size, but when I do I carry it IWB. If I'm out in the sticks, then sometimes OWB, but even then it's often my IWB because I'm so used to it.

I admire anyone who can do that - carry a full-sized steel 1911 IWB... That must have taken some real 'getting used to'.. I tried it - even with a 1911 compact - and it was literally painful, no matter where I tried to position it..

I like the fact that it has what appears to be adjustable in grip for the firearm.

I carry in a Del Fatti SLP, which I think is a version of the Askins Avenger.
Extremely well made, secure, and comfortable...

I much prefer OWB but that's all personal preference.

I used a Kirkpatrick TSS with a full sized 1911 and was very happy with it.

https://www.kirkpatrickleather.com/product/texas-strong-side-owb-holster/

It's really close to Milt Sparks 55BN design but the TSS has an FBI cant and doesn't show an order option for straight drop.

Milt Sparks Summer Special II IWB here.

Have packed several full size 1911's in it over the years.

I went many years daily carrying a full sized, all steel, 1911. I used a Milt Sparks VM II IWB. Very comfortable and concealable.

I have an all steel 5" Kimber 1911 that I started carrying in an Alien Gear IWB strong side. It is a great holster but was not completely comfortable driving with the pistol on my hip so I got an inexpensive leather IWB cross draw off a guy on ebay. Extra mag in a holder on the weak side hip. I usually use a pair of suspenders when carrying to support the belt and spread the weight. I recently added a replica M7 shoulder holster and I really like it in the car as well. It has an open end and the compensator on my 460 Rowland kit fits through nicely so I'll be using that in the deer woods. I'm hoping to get a round butt commander size, 4-4.25" full grip for full time carry. A little smaller and lighter but full grip and 8 shot mag. I may try one of the inexpensive Rock Island Officer models if I get a Covid check, but I really prefer a full length grip.

Roy Baker's pancake style conceals great and supports heavy guns well. They are the most comfortable owb for me.

I like a pancake style with a thumb break. That's because I'm over weight and the thumb break keeps the safety from digging in my side and I like leather between the hammer and slide.

I wish I could get used to an IWB style - but they're literally a pain... smile I do have a Milt Sparks Axiom for one of my compact Kimbers.. Good stuff that...

In the woods I usually carry in an El Paso Tanker. Love it. In town either a Sparks VMII or Simply Rugged Cuda OWB. It surprises me how well a 5” gun carries IWB.

I like the Milt Sparks 55BN and the Simply Rugged Cuda.
