I'm guessing the very end of 1959. Maybe early 1960.

I have a 110MCL 308, serial #19984. It has a K date code. It has a Chicopee barrel. I think the date code is on the barrel. I'll trudge through the snow that fell last night and is continuing to fall to check it later.

Yep! But I made it out there. The code is 11K. It is on the left side of the barrel between the rear sight boss and the proof test stamp. You guys know how I get off the subject but while I was out there I looked at my 99DL, 300 Savage, serial number 1,044,004. It has a 24" lightweight barrel with the Chicopee barrel address. The only 99 with a lightweight barrel produced at Chicopee was the 99F with a 22" barrel. There sure was some strange things going on with Savage during the late 50's and early 60's.
