Farmers Co-Op has our best seeds, or I get starter plants from the Mennonites.
I quit paying Burpee $3 for 8 little bell pepper seeds. GMAFB.

I buy from them, from the local Southern States Co-op, and plants from a number of Mennonite greenhouses. I start my own tomato, pepper, squash, and sometimes cabbage plants.

GHouses 100ft long, 40ft wide. Large operation for around here. Decided to get plants for the first time in 15 or so years. I still grow okra, squash from seed.

Wherever I find them. I’ve become fond of the coated ones when I can get them too. Easy to handle. Amazon had some nice heirloom tomatoes.
Had miserable luck with my seeds started in the basement last year. Ended up with some plants from a feed store and we started some tomatoes in the ground as well with pretty good luck.
Burpees online charges waaaayyyy too much. They have a lot of nerve charging shipping considering the price of their seeds.
What fresh Hell is this?

I get mine at Totally Tomatoes (tomato and pepper seeds) and Territorial Seeds(everything else). I have also used Johnny's Selected Seeds. These fresh seeds never fail to come up, especially the tomato and pepper seeds I start in the house. The peppers I started already took exactly 1 week.

Got some spare horse fencing for cages
Thinking of growing 6 or 8 tomatoe plants this year. Just for schitts and Giggles and inclusion in all you Mr Green Jeans garden threads.
But 3 or 4 starter plant varieties....
Aint had a " garden" since 2008 ish, middle daughters hair brain idea when I came home one day. To discover a 15 ft by 8 ft wide section of my lawn all dug the fugg up...
Girl scout elementary school badge schit.
Prior to that had a 20 x 20 at the other house
Tomatoes and cucumbers....
So it is time once again to make a garden . Just to reinforce in my mind, that I dont like gardens.
Cages and a 1 ft dug up circle for each. Keep it simple.....

I ordered some sweet 100 cherry tomato seeds online last year. Only 1 in 10 sprouted and the plants didn't do well.
I was able to buy a couple of Starts at a greenhouse and they did awesome.

What are they getting for their tomato starts in 4 inch pots?
