Winter always goes too fast for my taste. In Florida, the winter is the best time for outdoors activity. Second best is early spring and late fall. Worst, of course, is summer. Oppressively hot most of the time.
Typical spring-like conditions, here. Windy, rain/snow showers alternating with more wind. Temps coming up (mostly) I'm told they're shutting down many lakes to ice fishing - deteriorating ice conditions.
Yep - another typical spring in NE New Mexico. Maybe the wind is down, just a little - but had dust storms in the southern part of the state early this week. Time for NM real estate to start relocating to Texas.
PS I haven't heard or seen a ski report - but I'm betting snow conditions are getting fairly bad.

It seems to be greening up pretty fast around here in places. Seems earlier than normal
Back in 07 same thing happened . Trees budded up pretty good. Then we had a real bad cold spell for several days froze alot of greened up stuff solid. Followed by hard rains and random hail . Really screwed up the oak acorn mast drop for that fall. Plus we had a really servere EHD out break that summer into indian summer.
TWRA knew this was all going down Did zero to cut back on limits that fall for deer hunting. And in some counties with a EHD kill off of greater than 25%. They actually made some 3 doe a day counties.
The herd #,s over all for the next 3 4 5 yrs suffered.
A place I hunt Stewart State Forrest has never really bounced back from what mother nature did in 07 and being made a 3 doe a day county that same yr also.
3 to 4 yrs of rotten acorns on the ground literally out their. Sparse deer sign in prime terrian routes that used to exist. Very little sign of coyotes which means little if any deer for them also.
Squirrels seem to be doing good out their. Predatory birds also.
Just a overall post on spring type of stuff. And trickle effect in ways...
Had a warm spell over a week ago that ended the ice fishing. All open water now with some ice left against the shoreline. Got down to 23 deg. F last night and now in the low 40's. Snow is also gone now thanks to that warm spell. Except for where it was piled up 10 ft. high around parking lots. Some of those piles are only a couple feet high now. Was up early this morning before spring arrived at 5 : 37 A.M. and went down the road with the Canon DSLR and got some nice sunrise (7:14 A.M. today) photos looking off a public fishing platform on the bay looking out at Lake Ontario. Someday if I ever get technologically advanced enough I'll be able to post photos on here. I can post 'em on other sites but this one is too much hassle for dinosaurs like me.
Wife's bird feeders are full of our feathered friends, a week ago there were only a couple. Around 50 degrees today and sunny with wind, snowing pretty heavily up on the mountain.
