My wife bought my mom a Yeti coffee cup about 3 weeks ago at Cabelas, Saturday a yeti catalog showed up in the mail so obviously Cabelas is keeping track of your purchases and selling your info.

Cabelas is a shell of what it used to be. Was at the one in Levi Utah yesterday and it was a joke. Empty shelves all over the store. Very few employees. They seemed shocked when I said no to there credit card offer.

Drove to Scheels and it was the exact opposite. Sad.

Was at the Farmington Cabela's in Utah last week. Shelves were pretty well stocked, but the selection wasn't great. Looked like they filled the shelves with whatever they got but didn't get in a whole lot of different things. The past year has been hell on imported stuff. Not much being made, shipped, or unloaded when it gets here, according to those who say they know. The Great Covidiocy is to blame.

Cabelas has gone downhill ever since Ass Pro bought them. My local store isn’t as good as it used to be - too much Redhead stuff that I never liked before.

I got an email last week from Cabelas that I opened right away. I tried to order a fish finder on that email. The fish finder was never in stock, and none more coming. So basically they completely lied to me. Guess what? Guess who got an email Saturday with the same out if stock, none more coming in fish finder?

I wrote them an email and raised hell. The sent me a $25 coupon with no explanation.

F them.

Sportsman’s Warehouse is just as bad. I looked up a fishing reel on their website and a day later got an email that said “Did you forget something?”

I think the new IOS operating system cuts that crap out.

They did make for a grand mail order company in back in the day.

Too bad they ran like scared dogs when the internet created competition and went full blown brick and mortar.

If they'd had the insight and motivation they could of been the Amazon of outdoor products and guns today.

How was it paid for. CC purchases are all tracked.

Was it purchased online. Online activity is all tracked.

Did she search the net previously. All Internet is tracked

Did she fill out some kind of warranty card.

Did you or her mention Yeti around Alexa

Hundreds of ways for your purchase to be tracked and recorded, accusing Cabelas is selling your information is ridiculous.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give a man a welfare check, a forty ounce malt liquor, a crack pipe, an Obama phone, free health insurance. and some Air Jordan's and he votes Democrat for a lifetime.

They built a Cabela's several miles from me been there 2 times. Its not the outdoor store that I expected. Looks like a Bass Pro they built 30 miles away and carry the same products.

Years ago I was a big Cabelas customer. I still have some dang nice cabelas brand clothing items I purchased 15-20 years ago. I recently lost a lot of weight so I am back into that stuff. I noted the quality of that older stuff. My old girlfriend used to make fun of me when the UPS guy pulled up that he was delivering my weekly Cabelas stock order. I haven't bought anything lately and usually buy from smaller online companies if not direct from manufacturers.

There's very big money in selling mailing lists. This isn't anything new. It's been going on for decades. It's just a lot more automated now with the online trackers, etc. An online retailer will pay a lot for a list of people who've bought from or even browsed a company like Cabelas or other popular companies.

For those who don't know it Sportsman's Whse was bought by Bass Pro last summer. So you can expect the same thing to happen with them down the line.

A friend of mine told me a couple of weeks ago that he'd just received a Cabelas "2020" Christmas catalog in the mail.

Read your CC agreements. They have all kinds of exceptions to the ‘we don’t sell your info’ statement.
