Last Friday, I had a shooting session with my two Kel-Tec semiautomatic pistolos.
PF-9 9mm Luger - 56 rounds - 28 ball and 28 jhp Shot without exception.
P3AT .380 ACP - same as above
JHP ammo used: .380 - 14 Gold Dot and 14 Golden Sabre 09mm - same as above
I paid $248 and $228 respectively for these guns plus some more for three extra magazines for each.
Since these are belly guns, I only shoot them at 7 yards. All rounds into the 10 ring at that distance.
I've lost count of the number of rounds through each but last count on each was 200+. I'd guess I have that many rounds again through each. I usually shoot 1/2 ball (Winchester White Box) and one half JHP.
When shot carefully both guns get nice groups at 7 yards. The P3AT tends to shoot a bit to the right while the PF-9 is right on. Both are good for elevation with all ammo but what would you expect at 7 yards.
There's been some concern about Kel-Tec durability. And I have a friend who sold his P3AT after the hammer spring came off. This was a first generation gun. Hopefully, KT has resolved this issue.
FYI.

Thanks, Norm.
I've been seriously considering a PF9 for a BUG to my G19 or 642. I've been concerned over it's reliability.

Fear not, over reliability.
Buy it, shoot it, carry it, for what it is.
It'll never be a first-line of defense duty carry piece, but for CCW and BUG duties, they are DAMNED hard to beat.

Yes he is.
I took my 13-year-old grandson to the range again today. He offered to go with since he'll be back in school tomorrow.
Today he shot a Marlin .22 bolt action, Marlin .44 Mag lever action, Ruger MKIII .22 pistol and Winchester 12 gauge.
He wore my old shooting vest with an ace bandage pinned to the inside where the gun butt rests. The recoil wasn't a problem.
He has got sight picture and breath control but still needs to work on his trigger squeeze. When he pays atttention he can hit with all weapons described above.
On the neighboring bay, a retired police officer was shooting his .45 STI Race Gun with red dot sight. He gave Jake a chance to shoot it. Now Jake wants red dots on all my guns. I told him that he'd first have to learn to use iron sights. Scopes and red dot sights come later.
Jake has kind of out grown the Marlin .22 which is a boy's size rifle I bought when he was born.
Thanks for your comment.
