My local gun shop closed up the other day. I had bought a 788 Remington in .222 Remington off of an Internet auction by a local auctioneer. Gentry's, my local gun shop was doing the transfers. When I walked in the place was bare, bad feeling. I had bought two Christensen Arms Rifles from him in the last three months, thought business was doing well. Had heard that he had a handgun stolen from the counter and the BATF had given him a rough going over it and he said the hell with it. Thought I would stop in and check with a newer shop in town that hadn't been open for long and try and buy something, help the guy out for trying to help us guys out with the present situation being what it is. Can't imagine opening a new gun shop today as it is. He had a little Charter Arms Professional .32 H&R magnum Stainless Steel wood gripped revolver in the display case. Actually looked like a small 686 S&W. I know it's no S&W, but it looked good and had a good double and single action trigger pull. I had one box of .32 S&W Longs I've had for probably 40 years, don't know why I got them. Bought the revolver for $382 out the door. Not much more recoil with the .32 S&W Longs and three inch barrel and full underlug than some .22 rimfire pistols. Nice round seven hole group a little under point of aim with the S&W Longs. Very satisfied. Went to Indiana to do a little shopping and stopped in to a gun shop there. The counter guy, a very polite and helpful young man, said he thought they may have some .32 ammo in the back. He came back with eight boxes of Hornady Critical Defense .32 H&R ammo for $25 a box. Said he had them for a long time, slow seller item. Left there with all eight boxes. Been a good day.

Sounds like a rare thing to find nowadays - not one, but two gun shops that are enjoyable to shop at, with useful items at reasonable prices.
Good day, indeed.

I went shopping a little today. Came home with 2 boxes of .210 grain .41 XTP's at "regular" price. Also a box of CCI .22 WMR 40 grain soft points for 10 bucks.
