Not familiar with revolver terminology, but i have a service six (1976 vintage) that doesn't lock up well when the hammer is down. If you give the cylinder a jiggle, it'll spin a notch or two. Or more.
When hammer is back, everything's tight as Dick's hatband.
As far as I can tell (assuming the cylinder is not the problem), the parts at play here are the cylinder latch, plunger and spring. Current plan is to replace these three parts and see if it fixes the problem. Does that make sense?
Also, I can't find a cylinder latch spring anywhere. Anybody have on they want to sell?

Yeah...
Start by taking it apart to see what's what. It's typically the cylinder bolt or the spring that is the culprit. Watch a youtube video on how to take it all apart. I'm not much of a Ruger guy, but IIRC, the cylinder bolt spring/plunger is in the crane. So if you pull the cylinder, and then pull the trigger group, you ought to be able to tell without further teardown.

Yeah, I took it apart and got the lay of the land. The cylinder latch and plunger thing that actuates the latch were easy to find replacement parts for, but can’t find a spring.
Anybody know if the spring from a GP would work?
