I thought I wanted one but dang! Seems a little high to me. What is a Stith worth these days? I would think this one is D&T anyway and could use a regular mount so maybe sell the Stith to help offset the price?

A little lot high. And yes, that R should be factory drilled.

Realize the mount is 26mm NOT 1".

Price is crazy, $1800 tops.

Serial number listed is in the 800,000 range (only about 500 produced in that range) and the info we have from JTC indicates that that serial was not issued.

Not so many .250's though. I got $1650 for a mint one 12 years ago on GB.

The scope is the old Stith-Kollmorgen with the 26mm tube. I'd put $350 on it if I had it.

Just bought mint Sith-Koli 4X w/dot for $140 on Ebay,

Fungus inside Kolis is a big problem and impossible to fix.

Many have been wrecked by jamming into 1" rings.

Great scopes, taken over by Redfield whose early scopes were 26mm.

Got forwarded a not good picture of the serial and blew up the first 2 digits. I still think it's a 6.

He added a good picture to the sale. Definitely a 6. Those 6's and 3's are tricky sometimes.

The boss code is 0D. made in 1952. I really thought it was an 8 in the serial number. Hard to pick up sometimes. I will adjust the ad. As for price, people have discovered the 99 and they are selling at crazy prices. I have already had a couple of fair offers on it. If it doesn't sell I will hunt it this fall.

I got a heck of a deal on a really nice one 5 years years back, about $650 USD. I didn't realize R's were quite THAT spendy.
I gave it to my nephew who sure loves it.
