I'm headed to Wisconsin this year. I hear there's some bigguns there.

Not getting into coundown mode yet. Bigger stuff on plate before October.

Same here, but that limits things in how much bone you can accumulate in a year....legally....*L*

Ditto on the back yard. I too have 'em in my back forty, but it just don't seem like hunting if I can see my own house.

Will be making a few trips to west central 'Wess consin'..as the out of staters say...grin

An aside - I recently saw an ad in the Gander mountain hunting planner packages - a central Wis whitetail hunt for like $2500 or some silly chit. Did not even include meals or lodging. Would be a cold day in hell before I spent that here. Lucky to have access to good private farmland just a tank of gas away.

Just to SW Pa. but still look forward to it every year cause I can hunt with my buddy who lives in Pa. I'll squeeze a couple days in archery season and then the 1st 2 days of the rifle season.

ya'll know where im goin. 3 months-1 week til alberta hunt. Other than that i'll be down in south georgia where it wont be below 70 degrees until early november or so. some times later than that. Fortunate enough to hunt a good private 1500 acre farm down there. There sure as hell wont be any 300 pounders though. good luck to everyone!

I agree. My traveling days won't come back until the littlest one gets out of daycare. She's costing me the equivalent of a trip to Alaska every year! crazy

Yeah, *L*, I hear Wisconsin has some decent animals.

My deal is mid-October to Ontario, then Manitoba for the muzzleloader, come back to WI, bowhunt, rifle hunt, then head to Iowa for the shotgun season. Didn't get drawn for Kansas archery this year. frown
If I can ever get the whitetails out of my system, I'd like to chase a moose or one of the big brownies on "the island"....until then.........

I'll be driving about 50 to 75 miles from home to go "Coues" whitetail hunting southwest of Tucson by the border. Countdown begun when I drew the tag.

That DO sound like one hellova whitetail quest you've got going this year!

Depending on where you are in Ontario in mid October, and funds dependent, you could squeeze a moose hunt as well. Since you're already there anyways.

I'm going out in the back yard. The countdown has been on since I shut the freezer door on the last buck about a week after Thanksgiving last year.

Here's the backyard:

Right from Ontario to Manitoba. The moose thing did cross my mind.
I was going to hunt just Ontario but I found out I didn't get my archery for Kansas, I figured, well, they've got some nice deer across the border to the west....And I'll be in 'da hood.....

I am driving about 12 miles north to the farm or maybe 25 miles to the other farm I hunt.
There is a trip, probably two, planned to South Georgia, about 3 hours away, and I may make it up to Virginia again this year.

I'll be walking across the street with the muzzleloader looking for the monster buck that's been teasing me all year. For gun season, it's a 3 1/2 hour drive north to the big woods of central Minnesota. The Monday after Thanksgiving will find me high on Boone Mountain in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, as I get my first shot at some Penn's Woods bucks since the inception of Quality Deer Management. It's gonna be a fun deer season.....

Not for whitetails. Traveling to CA from VA to hunt blacktails. Two tags for the B Zone. Wife has an elk tag there as well. Then bison in NE in Dec. Whitetails will be in between. But with an elk and a bison in the freezer, I can afford to be picky.
