Hi all,

Does anyone have any tips/tricks to get my safety working again?

Ever since I had the rifle and bolt/safety cerakoted, it is VERY hard to flick the safety back from fire to safe.

It's easy to flick from the middle position to fully rearward, however the it is VERY hard to pull it back from safe.

I know/understand that cerakote can affect tolerances but this seems excessive.

Thanks

Soak it in oil, while you work the safety.

There is a spring and plunger inside the shroud that works against the cam in the safety and it has to be freed up and re-lubricated.
The Cerakote baking process removes all that oil..., ideally it would have a light (very light) dab of grease on the cam where the piston works on it, but tearing it apart is usually not an option.

Work it with oil so it runs down inside, and then flip it over to let it carry any particulates out... rinse and repeat...
