I was thinking I might try to find one of these and I remember once reading on here years ago a few guys said the optics were a little odd in this model compared to the 2.5 x 8 Sorry I can't be more specific but I do remember one or two guys agreed with the OP that there was something lacking in this particular model. Anyone have opinions on this scope? Also did Zeiss ever make a Conquest in these ranges on magnification?

I’ve used one on a .375 for years and it’s been wonderful. It was so good, they had to stop making it along with all the other useful, practical scopes they once produced.

Leupold has discontinued so many good models like this one. I heard from a buddy there all of the fixed power models, they only have a few left, are next.

I have a Leupold 1.75-6x32 on my .358 win, it is one of my favorite scopes.
When I die I hope I don't start voting democrat.

I put a Trijicon Credo HX 1-6 on my Howa Grendel, maybe the fourth scope so far. Think this one will stay. Just about perfect.
What fresh Hell is this?

I had one on my M7 308. I wish that I still had it. Like others have said, they've gotten rid of all their good scopes.

I have two: one on a MRC 7x57 and one in a box that used to be on the MRC 7x57. I took it off because I had Leupold change the reticle to the German 4 and don't like it (the crosshairs are pretty thick), so I put the one with the regular duplex back on. If Leupold ever again decides to reasonably exchange reticles I might have it switched back.
As for what might be a bit odd about it is some people find the eye relief a little less than some of the other models, certainly shorter than the 2.5-8s that are on my Featherweights or the 3-9 on my M1909.
"An archer sees how far he can be from a target and still hit it, a bowhunter sees how close he can get before he shoots." It is certainly easy to use that same line of thinking with firearms. -- Unknown

I have a VX-3 1.75-6x32 and it is one of my absolute favorites. I’ve not noticed short eye relief. The adjustment range for windage and elevation is pretty small. Mine does have a German #4 from the custom shop and I like it. The scope is mounted on a Marlin 336.
Don't roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

To my eyes it's less tunnel-y than the 2.5-8. I have several of both. Have always found the 1.75-6 to be more user friendly.

Have one on a Kimber .308. No complaints with it. But I’m not much of a complainer either.

After trying a bunch of different scopes on my old Marlin guide gun I settled on the 1.75-6x leupold. Sold the scope with the gun to a friend who wanted it for his son. Regret both, turned out the guy was not the sort of friend I thought he was ... skipped town with a bit o' my money and some other folks guns.
Anyway, I have one sitting new in box for a future project. Could be a Ruger 77/xx, could be the new Marlin-by-Ruger when those come out.
Anyone who thinks there's two sides to everything hasn't met a Mbius strip.
Here be dragons ...

So did Zeiss make a scope in the Conquest line 1.75 x 6 or 2.5 x 8 similar to the Leupys? On 1.75 do you see the end of the rifle barrel?

Zeiss made a 1.8-5.5x38, or something like that. I always wanted to try one, but you don't see them come around too often.
