So I’ve got this scope and have been trying to match up a few cartridges that match the bullet drop hash marks. Thinking of putting it on a T3x .300 Win with 180gr - 200gr bullets. At some ranges it’s hash marks are close - others not so much.

Those that use or have used them - what cartridges seem to pair the best?

You can get any cartridge to line up properly with the hash marks by using their ballistic program.

Burris ballistic program

Make up a signon, then choose "Reticle Anaylsis" and follow the directions.

You can even print the results of the yardages on the hash marks and tape it to your stock if need be.

I just calc the trajectory in std. conditions that I shoot in, and match the reticle's MOA values to the trajectory just like a mil-dot reticle in 50-yd. intervals almost always at the optics highest power, i.e. if say the 2nd and 3rd MOA values are 7.5 and 11.0, and my hypothetical trajectory for say 550 yds. is right at 9.0 MOA, then that entry would be calcd as follows, 9-7.5=1.5, and there are 3.5 MOA between line stadia (11-7.5), then divide 1.5 by 3.5= .4. That reference now becomes 2.4 units. Now do the same for windage using the horizontal plex post tips for reference (say hypothetically .3 units), so your final dope would be 550-2.4-.3. Put it all in a Butler Creek scope cap cover, quickly and simply referenced in the field. In my case, to simplify even further, I also drop the 0, so it would look more like this, 55-2.4-.3
