Anyone own the 2021 duramax in 2500 HD truck? I am not going to debate the ford and dodge. I am quite aware of them. Owned a powerstroke and my son worked for a ram dealership. At the moment I am waiting for a GMC Denali or SLE with duramax to come in. They both are ordered with the 20" wheels, planning to pull a fifth wheeler so this was not a preference.
I am just wondering if they have solved the over heating or issues with the DEF?

Check out some of the diesel forums. There’s a few that divide things up to the specific manufacturers.

Never heard of that issue. Have a '14 2500HD Duramax and pull a 35' Jayco Eagle. No issues. There was a recall on the DEF tank for freezing/tank heater problem, but was fixed and no trouble on my rig.

The overheating problems were way back in 2004-2006, they fixed that a long time ago. I haven't heard of any recent DEF issues, I think they've got that sorted out now. I think all of the big 3 diesels are pretty well bug free now.

Being in the boat hauling business, lots of my friends have them. All I will say is that you drive Chevys for the the bling. And there's nothing wrong with that. It's kinda like air conditioning in the summer. You can make it as cold as your willing to pay for.

2019. Constant “low coolant level” warning due to very know problem with the sensor. Just deal with the “service emissions system” and subsequent depowering. Turned out to be a broken wire in a harness.
Thinking of going back to a gasser and using my 4500 to pull equipment around. Between ethanol and diesel emission regs, the govt has pretty much [bleep] up working trucks.

My dad picked up his 2021 3500 gmc Denali dirtymax a few months ago. So far so good, he hadng had any problems and really likes it. He buys a new one every few years. His last one had a few issues but it turned out to be bad fuel.

Id be just as concerned with the injection pump failures as I would be with anything else. 12k fixes two times before 125K miles made this life long Chevy guy buy a cummins.

I have a 14 crew cab Duramax with almost 225,000 miles on it. I regularly pull a 32' travel trailer or a 30' goose neck deck over. I have replaced the temp sensor and thermostats, but other than that it's just been routine maintenance. I will say that I freak'n hate the 20" wheels with a passion. I'm not good about going to the car wash and they collect mud and snow like no other. And I'm not spending a ton of money on aftermarket wheels so I just bitch about them !
Just because you're offended doesn't mean your right.

Yea I passed on the 20" wheels, got the 18" and spoked rims. Cheaper when its time for tires as well.

Had to go into the city today and, other than getting my 01 Ram back, the best thing that happened was driving along beside a brand new Chev 4500 with double cab and a slick looking pickup bed - huge rear window on the cab. It is a sweet looking rig - kinda caused me to wish I was still pulling heavy loads so I would need one. It is powered by Duramax through the Allison automatic. I have no idea whether or not there are problem issues with the 2021 Duramax, but hope not.

I am just hoping that the 2021 model has most of the issues mentioned above fixed. I am aware of them and seen that most of them have been fixed.
It was mentioned the GM bling. I read most reports that Ford and Ram surpass GM for fit and looks interior wise.
I personally like the front appearance of the 2500HD trucks. Getting the GM family discount is another factor for me.
