I got my hands on one this weekend. These things are neat and great for hunting or hiking when you don't want to carry a full sized tripod. You can wrap them around a tree limb, fence wire, or about anything else to hold your camera. I have the SLR version which is heavier duty for SLR cameras. If you use any lens longer than about 150mm (digital 150 that is), you'll want the stronger SLR Zoom version. The SLR just barely supports the longer 40-150 lens on my Olympus E500. A longer one would sag.

A couple years ago, I wanted to take some self pics of a deer I'd shot. I had a mini-tripod and a spring clamp that I used to hang the camera upside down from a tree limb. This Gorillapod would have greatly simplified the ordeal.

I know Doug carries them but I haven't checked his prices.
