I don't necessarily like it but often it's the only shot that I get.

And I still think that Jim Cloward's Pacific Research stock, which later became the Borden Rimrock, is probably the best synthetic stock for shooting offhand.

I have rifles with 3 Echols stocks and 4 with Rimrock ( 2 Cloward and 2 Borden) and find I like the feel and fit of the Echols the best with a scope. I have carried the Smithson for a season and offhand with iron sights it is maybe a little better. All are well designed for their purposes.

I have an LX-1 in LH on the way chambered in 300 WM. I knew Allen and couple of his close hunting friends here in OR as well. All of them own multiple Legends and those guns see lots of field time. For me it was finally time to except quality over quantity and thin the heard.

On these threads always tend to wonder how many different stocks the poster has used before coming to their very firm conclusion.

Including me!

How many does it take to know if a stock fits? That one is pretty easy. I like everything about the Legend stock except its straight comb.

D'Arcy is easy to talk to, takes his time to explain and knows a lot of stuff, obviously.

I like the Legend stock, especially with a scope, To me, it takes a pretty tight cheek weld to see irons, even though it's reportedly designed for both.

The shape is excellent.

Here's one on a .404J I built from a M-70 .300 RUM. BTW, a CRF RUM donor is a slick way to build a .404.
