One of my favorite deer hunting patterns I make. Works as a good fishing / utility knife as well. I call it the Loy’s or (Luck on Your Side) pattern. About a 3.125 to 3.25” max blade on this one.

I have always liked the look of that knife. It's very Bird & Trout type blade to my eye.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

I tried to embed a video of it. Didn’t work but it is a small video showing the knife in hand.

Nice looking knife.
It looks a lot like the light hunter style knife that Dale Howe makes, mine works and carries quite well..

I’ll have to check him out. Good desists seem to morph and be very similar. Seems if the tool functions it lends itself to similar likeness.

Whatcha got? One of mine or something similar? One of mine......I don't get too twisted about knives similar to mine, as none of us has a patent on designs and there are only so many ways to design a blade and for all intents and purposes, we all ran out of "new" designs years ago. I was just noting it was similar and in no way was I implying anyone copied me. Nice blade!

THere's only so many ways to make a knife. We've been doing it for 1,000's of years. Look around enough and you'll find someone before you made what you're making. Only thing that changes is materials.
I've made some through trial and error in total isolation that fit and felt and worked great. Then after the fact saw very similar that were out there already.
Different alloys allow thinner blades or different grinds, but ultimately the interface with the user is unchanged.

Gotcha. Too many makers to know them all. Looks like a Gene Ingram style knife maker. Those guys make killer clean knives.

I was a fan of Larry Lewis' rustic knives before he closed up shop.
