Has anyone ever tried reloading 35 grain bullets with h4198? Or has anyone had any experience with these bullets I was given a handful but now I need to find a 204 gun to buy.

I load mine with IMR8208. They are very habit forming.

My experience---27.4, H-4895, rem 71/2 primer--one hell of a coyote load.

send a pm to VarmintHunter. He shoots Berger bullets a lot.

I used BL-C(2) with the 35 grain Berger and got excellent accuracy & good velocity. Never did try 4198 in that little cartridge.

4198 seems too fast to me.
4895, TAC or 8208.
The last time that bear ate a lawyer he had the runs for 33 days!

I use that bullet in front of Benchmark powder on coyotes out of my 204. Works great.

Houston1: All of my heavy barrel Rifles in caliber 204 Ruger shoot the Berger 35's the most accurately! Sadly they are hard to come by and rather pricey so I switched all my 204's (I have 8 of them) over to the nearly as accurate 32 grain Sierra BlitzKings. Having said that two weeks ago at the Bozeman gunshow here in Montana I bought 2 boxes of the 35 grain Bergers from a table holder for $10.00 per box. The table holder had an opened box of of the 35 grain Bergers and later in the show I bought them for $5.00 - there were 90 bullets in that box. So I have some of these wonderful bullets to use up on the cheap! Most of my Rifles preferred H 4895 with the 35 grain Bergers. Best of luck with the 204 - its is an amazing cartridge. By the way the 35 grain Berger works especially well on Coyotes, Badgers and Rock Chucks in my experience. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
