I switched over to old school razor using feather blades. Compared to the 3 blade disposable, the end result is a bit less. I have used Barbasol forever, but I was guessing a better shave cream would help get a closer shave with less burn.

Are you stuck on cream?

I switched to Dollar Shave Club shave butter which is way better…

Cremo. Get a tube at almost any drug store or discount place. You can get several varieties from unscented to minty/cooling. (I've used original, sandalwood, and minty. A tube lasts 90+ days if you shave daily.) Squeeze out one inch of cream and spread it all over your beard. It won't look like enough if you've used foam, but that's PLENTY. LINK

I use Cremo and Harry's razors exclusively now. One blade a month and one tube of cream a year, shaving twice a week. I'm changing blades long before I'd have to, but I have delivery set up for a blade a month, so I change them on that schedule.

First time I trired Cremo I knew I would never go back to foams. I actually like some other of the butter stuff better than Cremo (Harry's is one) and also use old fashion barber soap and a brush just to go old school.

Terry if you try the other Cremo type stuff read the directions. It takes VERY little and most over apply until they figure it out. You will like!

Mug and brush. Look for a shaving soap with lanolin. Aloe vera with lidocaine after (think sunburn treatment).

Several years ago my barber recommended creme rince that is used after shampooing. Closest, smoothest shave ever. No burn.
I now recommend to all.

It seems to me if you're shaving in such a way as to need topical lidocaine afterward then something is wrong.

Men need to quit trying for "smooth as a baby's ass" and stop shaving against the grain.

I shave in the shower, use my wifes hair conditioner. Been using it for years for a close smooth shave. I will never use that shaving cream crap again.

While I mostly agree with your food and drink reco’s, this is not true. I’m very tender! 😉

Will add, not talking about scraped up. The aloe is cool and refreshing. Very delightful!

I was not impressed with Cremo at all so back to Edge Gel. I shave every other day.

2 in 1 shampoo works great for shaving with the old style razors.
