Did Trump ever offer a detailed plan for leaving? Look, before you all whine, I sure wish he was President, I just don't recall a specific plan other than swift withdrawal. The withdrawal deadline was negotiated by Trump. The problem seems to be the completely incompetent planning for withdrawal. Biden and his team had 4 months to prepare and it appears they completely failed. Every promise Biden made on withdrawal has proven wrong. I don't know how much planning Trump and his people had done, but if Biden wasn't ready for the withdrawal (and he clearly was not) he should have renegotiated a new deadline and he sure has hell should not have made promises that were all false.

Based on the news I read today, he’s getting it pretty good from both sides. I just don't want Trump to look like an opportunist during a tragedy. He has been known to say just a bit too much. He has surrogates, let them pile on while he remains “Presidential”.

Trump should let Joe stew in his own juices, lest he put his foot in it. If the evacuation turns out really badly, with dead Americans, no one should look like they’re trying to profit from that. The old “never distract your enemy while he’s defeating himself” theory. If we actually had a media instead of a legion of loyal Democrat Party propaganda specialists, I would agree. But Trump has to beat them to the punch. Otherwise, they will fabricate a reality that meets their needs and Trump will be on the defensive. This way, Biden and the media are on the defensive.
