How do you replace the Floorplate Catch Pin from a Spanish Mauser 93? I've looked for videos on youtube to show how to take one out but none exist. My Spanish Mauser has the push button catch pin to release the floorplate just forward of the right side of the trigger guard. Thank you.

Been a long long while since messed a M93, but weren't they like all military Mausers having a recessed push button meant to be depressed with the point of a cartridge? Push the detent in (it'll be pretty stiff) then slide the floor plate to disengage it.

There should be a cross pin in the rear 'hump'' that engages a retaining groove in the release button, ..drive it out, from left to right, use a well fitting punch, it is tiny...maybe 5/64ths ish?

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Gnoahh, not the same as the 98 action. But yes you do push with the tip of a cartridge and the hinged floor plate swings open, no sliding involved. But wondering how to take out that release button.

Flintlocke, I know the pin you're describing. If I drive that out it will release the button to be removed? There should also be a spring behind that push button release as well. Am I right?
