I am having feeding issues with one of each. The 721 in 30-06 will not pick up a round when the bolt goes forward. The 722 in 257 Roberts will pick up the round but the lead goes too high and will not chamber. You can insert the round manually and it will close and fire.

Try to re install the magazine springs 180 deg from where they are now..before you get too far.
Edit ... that first sentence is not much help....the follower springs are correctly installed when the rifle is held vertical, bbl pointing up, bolt side facing you and the follower spring forms a "W" with the smooth end engaging the follower and the scalloped end engaging the floorplate.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Check to see if the feed lips on the magazine box are not curled excessively. If the box is too tall for the stock inlet and the action screws are heavily torqued, they will bend. This also causes the recess in the forward surface of the magazine box to ride too high relative to the action feed ramp.

LMFAO^^^^ Serious question...why didn't they install ramrods under the barrel on the 700 series rifles to knock out the empties?

Ive got a 722 that I had rebarreled to 7mm08 about 1986....Have used it extensively and it has never failed to feed or extract or eject. My Barret Fieldcraft 7mm08 has failed to extract the cartridge before.

If'n I were to start the process off by ramming my head fully up my ass, I could likely reassemble one of my 721/722s in such a way as to not feed properly.... 😁
