I've been searching for a recurve to start with and have come upon a Ben Pearson Stallion bow. This is a 62" 50# bow. I think the longer length will be good for me as I am about 6'2" and have heard a longer length is a little more forgiving. As I said I am new to this and don't want to put a lot of money into something I may not continue with. Can anyone tell me anything about this model. It appears to be in very good condition but needs a new string. Thanks for any replies. Les

What do you call "a lot of money"?.

This bow was made from the early 1960s, about 1963, if I remember. They were good bows, but if you are shooting, remember it is not new, and you are not a museum. I am still shooting a Bear Kodiak Magnum from 1968 and a Red Wing from 1972, and they are great.
