/start your physical conditioning yesterday, and never stop. I am headed for the treadmill right now and its 0430. It rained here hard yesterday, or I would be hiking up a couple of mountain trails. I am 76. With the daylight hours so short I usually start in the early morning with a headlamp and hike for a couple of hours.

ditto.

6 days a week, 5 miles a day on a local mountain trail chasing the sunrise. Follow up with PT afterwards. Age 67.

Still, packing out elk quarters at 7,000 ft. elevation thoroughly kicks my butt. But I know that going in....

Break out the checkbooks and pay someone to make it easy for you.

We used to often do a cow hunt in Eastern Utah North of vernal. We had good luck and usually didn't have much of a ways to pack. Although one year I shot the largest cow I've ever seen a ways up and over a big steep hill. That one wasn't much fun.

I just got back from a trip to vernal Utah for a guided cow hunt. Very reasonable price and easy. The elk cross from the farm to a wild life refuge. If youโ€™re interested send me a PM

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.
