The best hunting conditions of all Europe are in Romania. From the 1st of November to the end of February, millions of geese spend the winter in the Romanian fields. The hunting is in the sprouted fields or in freshly harvested cornfields, where geese come for food. Hunting can be organized in places where the Greylag Goose eats, or in places where it spends the night. Hunting begins at sunrise or at dusk. It is very important that the hunter knows very well the place where the goose looks for food. Camouflage is an essential condition. The hunter can hide in special-made pits or in irrigation canals.
