It's not a tough job at all, actually pretty easy on a pickup.

Define “Wow” for us please.
There’s a Ford dealer in Crystal River that wants $300 for an oil change.

$$$ Stealership, private shop, DIY?
Locally, pumps for it run $120-350.

Ouch!
Dillonbuck, I’ve had a couple of Toyotas in days gone by. Neither had over 225k miles when they imploded. Wife has one now, only because she likes it and we will both be gone before it sees 200k miles.

If I remember correctly 4 bolts hold the bed, Delphi pump 239.99 @ Autozone, Off brand pump 159.99 Fuel Pump.Any of the chain places and dealers are a ripoff, to get treated fairly you need to find an independent mechanic you can trust if you can't or don't want to do it yourself.

It's either drop the tank or lift the bed.................
Tires Plus, Firestone Store........... Or if the bed bolts and or tank straps are rusty, or you’re in a hurry. Sawzall a square out of the bed floor over the tank and swap it out in about 10 minutes through the hole. I welded some little tabs on the cutout and screwed it back in place on the last one I did, little bead of sillycone and she’s good to go. 👍🏻

Last one I did, was on a 16 year old truck. Good chance you'll wind up replacing hoses and straps if ya drop the tank and taking the bed off of an old rust bucket ain't a day at the beach, either? So I cut an access hole as previously mentioned and went the easy route.
Took a piece of fairly heavy gauge aluminum, pounded it down to fit in the ribs, with a block of oak and a mallet, pop riveted it over the access hole. Done.
Helped a neighbor replace a pickup bed last year. Early 2000s Sierra short bed 4x4 he'd bought, that came with a smashed up, rusted out bed. Got the old one off, helped him set the used replacement on. Would've been easier with four guys, but the two of us finally got it done. He did all the detach/reattach stuff, I just helped with the rassle.
If three or more people think you're a dimwit, chances are at least one of them is right.

I changed mine this summer because the gauge sending unit went bad and figured many as well change it all while I was in it. I first stopped by the Dodge place and they wanted almost 700 to change or 400 for the part. I went to the Mopar parts page and got the part number and did a search using the number.Found one on Amazon for 175.00 dollars same brand as the one that came out of it from factory.
A friend and I pulled my bed and replaced the pump in about hour and half. After pulling the bed we still had to loosen the back strap to remove the pump. Mine is a 2014 Bighorn club cab 4X4.
A gun in the hand is worth more than the entire police force on the phone.
