ISO something cool for a Savage FV-SR with a tactical/mil dot reticle. Prefer something under $500, and powered (fixed or variable).
Thoughts?
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

I don't know if it's cool, but the SWFA Super Sniper is my preference. Either the 6x42 or 10x42, depending on your power/use preference.
Reliable adjustments Reticle matches adjustments, both windage and elevation so they can be used to hold and/or measure adjustments Parallax adjustment

Have a SS 10xMQ on a 1978 S/A 164. Use that one for crows, sometimes beyond 100 yds. And a SS 6xMQ on an '60s 10/22 used for dairy farm pigeons.
Both are in Burris sig rings shimmed full 40 MOA. Can't say which I like better.

Camera Land has a special on Sightron S-Tac scopes. I use a Bushnell Nitro 2.5-10 ($150 at Natchez). My .17 HMR wears a Burris E1 4.5-14x42 with LRMOA reticle and that might be my favorite optic of the ones I listed. In fact, I'm planning on purchasing a Savage BMag in 17 WSM and I'll probably get another Burris for it. For reference, all of my Centerfires have Bushnell LRTS or LRHS scopes on them.

Check the thread in Optics on Athlon Helos 2-10x42 This would be my choice as well I used to be a big fan of the 10 x SWFA but now prefer this scope for a number of reasons
