I've got a grandbaby bout to be born too. Any day now, could happen on opener. lol
grandbaby number 3 I was born opening day 1960… I haven’t missed opening day in MI since I turned 14. Same, same. Since 1963. Deer season always seems to bring me back here. I buggered up my deer rifle but good tonight removing a scope. Seems my Herculean power snapped off a scope base screw and the rest is still in the receiver. No good way to extract it. Win M100 308. Not happy at the moment. <sigh> Good luck to all you Minnesotans. It's the best time of the year! what kind of mount? trying to think if I have any extras for 88/100. I don't think I do.... I'll look at lunch time though.
Something clever here.

We have another kid who is the fastest, most exciting player in the state. Sure makes for some exciting football to watch.
Who's that? We must have the second fastest kid in the state. He won state track in the 200m last spring. In the Section playoff game last week he ran for 283 yards and set the school record. The kid has a game tomorrow night for the State 1/4 Finals. He'll be up at camp late....but he'll be there. Kristen Hoskins. Committed to the Gophers. Official 4.31 40 yard dash, unofficial 4.27. Super fun to watch as he has more moves than Barry Sanders. Insane really. His biggest problem is we don't get the ball in his hands enough. He scores about every 3rd or 4th touch. Cant wait to see him play in the Big Ten next year! We are going to watch them in Bemidji tonight. Will get back after midnight. Not great timing for opener tomorrow!! You must mean Section Championship. The state tourney starts next round. What team? I will see how they do! Yeah, Section Championship. Centennial. They play STMA tonight in St. Michael.
Camp is where you make it.

Due to inflation, the moscow mules at deer camp this year will be improvised. We had to sell the copper cup to buy a bottle of Philips vodka from the bottom shelf. We have no other ingredients, you will have to take straight pulls from the vodka bottle with a penny in your mouth. And we only have the one penny so you'll have to pass it around.
Thanks for your cooperation.
The management.

I'll look at lunch time though. I got the mount off, an original Marble's Game Getter from Gladstone. I have a couple of them handed down from dad. One piece mount. Fairly decent. It's the mounting screw that sheared the head off. Only about a half a mm is sticking out. Tried to get a Vice grip on it. No joy.

Camp (Home) put 1 on "the pole", Sunday morning. That butt ugly savage youth .243 has killed a deer, or multiples, every season since Doug was 12. Hopefully, the temps do drop as predicted ! Tender loins tonight !

are they calling you The Loinsmith?
My crew tipped 2 over. A doe and a monster buck shot by my daughter.
On the high school football front, my team made a miraculous comeback for the 2nd straight week with 3 TDs in the final 3 minutes to beat Bemidji and go to state. Lots of excitement. We play a city school, Robbinsdale Cooper, on Saturday. I don't know anything about them.

Not much action with our crew. Only 2 deer were sighted and both of those by the boy. He popped one of them Sunday morning. It was just too warm for much deer movement in the north country.
The Centennial boys football lost their 6A 1/4 final game Friday night 34-31. It was a great season for them considering they were not ranked at the beginning of the season and were expected to be more than average this year. They beat some great teams that were ranked in the top 5.
He’ll be a senior next year so he’s pretty excited for it.
We hope to be posting deer pics this time next week.
