I have something you might enjoy.
.44 Russian Hard Cast Truncated Cone Ammunition.
Velocity from a 5" is 785 FPS.
A little background:
Prior to the .44 Mag we had the .44 Special. Prior to the Special we had the .44 Russian.
The Russian is a Super Cool little cartridge! Starline makes the brass, and it is all essentially the same, (Mag, Special and Russian) they simply cut to the appropriate length. The .44 Russian case is approximately the same length as a .45 ACP case. Yes it chambers/fits perfectly fine in all .44 Special and Magnum revolvers.
Here is a 185 grain .44 Russian next to a 185 grain .45 ACP to give you a comparison:
A while back I did some development using 185 grain full wadcutters in Russian cases and a 5" S&W M29. It ended up being the single most accurate .44 caliber load I have ever developed, with sub 1" loads @ 25 yards being the norm:
Recoil is less than that of a standard .45 ACP which is to be expected, since its a 185 grain bullet, at 785 FPS as compared to your typical .45 ACP (230 at 800)
Groups at 25 yards are quite respectable. I grabbed my Redhawk, which is not quite as accurate as my M29 and they produced very nice groups in very informal testing. I did not do any serious testing as I have tested this load before and knew it was a tack driver.
So for guys who want to enjoy their big bore revolvers without the big blast, this is a great load.
Price includes shipping and insurance.
It is $105 for 100 rounds to your door, which after S&I works out to about $40 per box of 50.
They will come packaged in either 50 or 100 round hard side plastic ammo containers for their protection and for your later use.
* No, I don't sell them in boxes of 20. The shipping (not to mention packaging) is so costly that it makes no sense to do so .
Shipping goes UPS Ground insured. You have to be 21 since it is handgun ammo. Will only ship to places where legal and it is your responsibility to know your local laws. No shipping to restricted states or jurisdictions.
Post the amount you want followed with a PM, so I can keep track please.
I have 900 rounds of this available as of today.
