So, I've realized that the whole "I need this for our son" thing is actually working with my wife. She totally bought into the "needing" silencers because of my tinnitus, and I'm thinking one of these on a contender frame would be perfect set up with my Gemtech Tracker.
Any experiences with the SSK barrels? It's looking cost effective, as getting a factory barrel cut to 20" and threaded isn't free.
Anyhow, I'm interested in what people that have used them think. I don't need 1/2 MOA with blue box, but I am getting used to "inexpensive" rifles shooting well.

Well, I decided after looking at out of stock 30-30 barrels everywhere, and the cost of threading, that I should just do it.
As for Haus of Arms, Marty emailed me after recognizing the name from my frame/trigger job order and asked if I didn't mind if they kept the barrel with the frame to ensure a good fitting. I'll take that customer service any day, even a holiday.
I'll mount up a scope upon arrival and do a review.

I had SSK make me a 30-30 barrel specifically for a suppressor. It works as expected.
What twist did you ask for?
Trail Boss and 180 gr Hornady BTSPs are a great combination for 30-30 cases.

1/7 twist What is your load with the Hornady 180s? I have 250 of them.

Years ago SSK made me a 23" 6 ppc Contender barrel. It is exceedingly accurate.

I need my frame. And youth stock. The Gemtech Tracker is light, and I think will be great on the bull barrel.

Fits perfect, shoots 150g bullets into 1.5" at 75 yards with the dot. Not too heavy, even with an Aimpoint Pro and Gemtech Tracker.

Went with a Trijicon 1-4x instead of the red dot. It's awesome.

I need to look into one myself The best part is, I shot the doe pretty close behind the neighbor's cabin, and, with the silencer, nobody heard me shoot.

Been plinking with suppressed Contender barrels for a spell, and am quite pleased with the performance. 12” twist for the .30 Sneezer and 15” for the .22 RF/CF barrel. Dunno why one would go with a 7” twist, but hey, whatever works. My buddy Muffin was shooting 230 gr lead quite well with a 10” twist .30 caliber barrel.
I am..........disturbed.
