Good morning all,
I am planning on drawing an elk tag in Colorado Unit 76 next year, and would like recommendations on outfitters in that area. Please let me know if you have any experiences, good or bad, in that unit. TIA

I hunted there in 2017 and camped about a mile from a camp operated by Greg Pearson of Long Ridge outfitters. We crossed paths at the trailhead and in the backcountry and he and his people were very nice, shared information, went out of their way to be helpful even though I wasn't hunting with them. They had an excellent knowledge of the area and elk movements. I packed in with llamas but his crew was so good I ended up hiring them to pack the elk out for me. Highest recommendation. This is in contrast to another outfitter that parked near me at the trailhead. Don't know his name but he was downright nasty and made it clear that he was unhappy that I would be hunting in the area, and went on to tell me there were no elk in there anyway.

We camped near Big Ruby Lake. Came in via Fern Creek trailhead. Killed my bull maybe a mile above Big Ruby.
