Very impressive. Beautifully finished. How long did that take, the polishing part?

It didn't take as long as you would think. Once you know what you are doing and have the tools and work space, the work goes quickly. On this one I took a short cut. The bluing on most of the gun was in great shape, so rather than remove all of it, I just sanded and polished the bad parts and then gave the rest of the gun a quick polish with crocus cloth and reblued over the original S&W bluing.

I have found that "road rash" like that often looks worse that it is once you start polishing. The selective polish/reblue is a very effective way to control labor costs involved in a reblue, the results speak for themselves.
