Cerakote is used on wood and synthetics all the time.
They make air cure mixes.
NO silica is melted in curing (really think about that for a second).

FYI on baking the Cerakote you can build a cardboard box of sorts and heat with a small electric space heater. I painted an old shotgun this way with the parkerized finish and it turned out great. My buddy loved it and says it still looks great.
